Want a quick comparison of ALL the rangefinders we’ve reviewed? Check out the table in this post.

The kids are almost out of school and warm, lazy afternoons await, but before you know there’ll be a chill in the air and another hunting season will be upon us. You’ve got plenty to do before then – scouting new areas, sighting in your gun or bow, uh…getting in field shape. The last thing you need to do is wait till it’s almost time to get that new piece of equipment that you’ve been thinking about.
In fact, this is the perfect time to upgrade your gear and get used to your new rangefinder. Take it out while it’s warm, get used to how it works, practice estimating distances, use it at the range.
In other words, practice now so you’ll be ready later. And if you want, you can always use it in that funny game with the little white balls and crooked sticks!
And with great deals like the Nikon RifleHunter 550, on sale now at Amazon.com, there’s no reason to wait at all.

Bottom Line Up Front:
The Leica Geovid Range Finder Binoculars combine a top of the line, elite level of binoculars with a solid if basic range finder. The optics are truly phenomenal – and they’d better be for this price, of course.
For those that demand the finest in optics and like the convenience of a quality rangefinder combined as well, and who have the budget to afford it, the Leica Geovid is a top choice.

Bottom Line Up Front: The Bushnell Legend 1200 Arc Rangefinder is a full-featured unit that attempts to meet the needs of all hunters. And though it wasn’t unanimous, users seem to agree.
It takes a bit to set up and use with so many features, but as it gets more of a track record, Bushnell may just have a winner on their hands.
The Legend 1200 is available in both camo and black at Amazon.com

So we point these things at our target, push the button, and it gives us a number. We know that there’s a laser involved somehow, but just how do these things do it anyway? Turns out it’s an old idea.

Bottom Line Up Front: The Bushnell Fusion 1600 Rangefinding Binoculars delivers a good combination unit, especially for the price. You’ll get both a very good pair of binoculars and a very good rangefinder.
Users that need the absolute top performance in both binocular and range finder may want to consider separate units, even though the combined cost may be more, but these will more than do the job for the vast majority of hunters
If you only want to carry one piece of gear and your budget is under four figures, the Fusion 1600 is pretty much the only game in town.

Bottom Line Up Front: The Bushnell Bowhunter “Chuck Adams” rangefinder seems to be a mixed bag. Many users report excellent performance, some others not as much. It offers features that other archery units lack but is missing some features those other units do offer.
Overall it seems that there are better units out there – both for archery and rifle/general purpose hunting – but if you can get this on sale around $200 or so, it may be worthwhile to think about.
This rangefinder is on sale at Amazon.com today
